"I want to tell you about someone who taught me a lot about what I value. He taught me caring. He was kind and gentle. He was always loyal. He totally trusted others and me. He was a friend to everyone he met. He had a playful and adventuresome spirit. He grew up with my kids and he never hurt anyone or anything. He was my best friend for 12 years. He was my first dog after Veterinary School and his name was Roscoe.

Roscoe taught me more about the feeling people have for their pets then any book or seminar. He was there every day for me, and I was there for him. I want to be there for the people and their pets that I have the privilege to care for, because I know how valuable their relationship with their pet is. The motto of our practice is “It’s all about caring,” and I want to be known for caring."  - Dr. Joe Rodier, Veterinarian

I cannot say enough about Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Dr. Rodier! I am so thankful that they were able to care for my dog. Everyone was kind and welcoming. Dr. Rodier and the staff went above and beyond and would advise that everyone go to BSAH for their pet care.

Everyone at the clinic is so friendly and kind. Even though my dog is very...let's say "vocal"...and a pit bull, they never act like she's a bother or dangerous (she's not). Dr. Joe Rodier knows his trade very well, and takes the time to explain what your pet is going through and how he's going to fix it. His staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful. My doggo has had two surgeries here, and it's well worth driving three hours to Blue Springs. I know she's in good hands with Dr. Joe and crew. All dogs are special to us; that's a given. It's the people who dedicate their own lives to making them better that are truly special. Those people are right here at Blue Springs Animal Hospital.

Wow! That was my first impression of Blue Springs Animal Hospital. The staff greeted us the minute we walked in the door with smiles and concern. They truly understand how very important our pets are to us. Dr. Rodier was so thorough with his exam and took the time to explain exactly what treatment was needed for our little Dewey. We will also be utilizing their boarding and playtime for Dewey in the future, as I had the opportunity to observe the playtime they offer for pets. You could tell that all of those dogs loved being there and they are constantly looked after and played with by the staff attendant in the room, who, by the way, has the perfect job and you could tell she really loved interacting with these pets. No matter what your need may be for your pet(s) I highly recommend you take them to the caring staff and doctors at Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.

Dr. Rodier is AMAZING. He is so open to answering any and all questions, he did patella surgery on my tiny pup. He was patient with me as a nervous dog mom. I highly recommend him! The staff has all been super nice and helpful.

We had a life threatening emergency with our cat that could have ended badly and Dr Rodier and his staff helped us through it every step of the way. They not only helped us make an educated decision about what her quality of life was going to be like, but they gave us plenty of time with her, gave us lots of options, allowed us to sit with her in the hospital as much as we wanted, called us to give us updates, and gave her lots of love! We are happy to report that even with one kidney gone, she is happy and healthy! The whole entire staff was amazing from start to finish!

I have been taking my puppy "BellaBoo" to Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort for approximately 7 years. The entire staff is very caring and compassionate. I love Dr. Rodier & Dr. Willis. Their attentiveness to my puppy continues to keep him in excellent health. The office staff is very personable and I enjoy seeing their jolly faces every time we visit. This is the best animal hospital and pet resort in the Kansas City area. My puppy is family, and so is the Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort.

I recently brought my Aussie mix, Gretchen, to Blue Spring Animal Hospital. Gretchen and her brother Marley got into a scuffle over a hot dog bun and she ended up with 2 cuts on her snout, a big gash on her nose and under her chin. She was bleeding everywhere. The very caring staff members were able to get me in to see Dr. Rodier within 20 minutes of when I called. Gretchen is incredibly anxious and difficult when we are at the vet. Even though Dr. Rodier had never treated her before, he was so good and patient with her. He sedated her with me still in the room and when she was out we left so they could stitch up her nose and under her chin. They called to let me know she was ready and told me exactly how many stitches they put in. When I went to pick her up I found out Dr. Rodier had Amy take her outside and wait with her until I got there! He thought she would be more relaxed and less stressed outside of the busy, noisy office. I was so impressed how intuitive he was with her! This is a perfect example of why I have been taking my dogs to Blue Springs Animal Hospital for 15 years! Thank you Dr. Rodier & staff for taking such good care of my high maintenance girl for me???

Our local veterinarian in Jefferson City diagnosed our seven-month old Goldendoodle, Olivia, with osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) and advised us to consult an orthopedic surgeon. We searched the internet and discovered that Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Dr. Rodier have extensive experience and expertise with OCD issues. We took advantage of their generous free second opinion offer and received an excellent examination and evaluation for orthopedic treatment we do not have access to in Jefferson City. Dr. Rodier advised us to pursue conservative treatment of restricted activity and medication prior to considering surgery. He took his time examining Olivia, reviewing her ex-rays with us, and explaining our surgical options, if necessary. We are pleased and confident with the treatment and diagnosis Olivia received.
