Blue Springs Pet Resort Policies and Fees spacer

Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort is setting the standard for quality pet care...and this certainly applies to keeping pets in our facility safe and healthy.

For the protection of all the pets entrusted to our care, we must set some policies and standards that apply to every guest.

Preventative Health Requirements
All guests to the Pet Resort including canine camp, kitty city, daycare, and the grooming salon must be current on routine preventative health care provided by a veterinarian. The easiest and most convenient way to use our Pet Resort service is to also be a client of our hospital. In that way all your pet's health care is on record with us and we will be familiar with your pet if he/she would happen to become ill while at the Pet Resort.

If your pet is not current on our health care requirements, we welcome your appointment in advance or at the time of boarding to update your pet's wellness care and vaccinations.

If your pet is under the care of another veterinary hospital, they are still very welcome at our Pet Resort, but you must bring a copy of the records or a receipt showing all the required services were performed within the time frame required.
Due to variables and problems with vaccine efficacy, we can not recognize vaccinations given by anyone other than a licensed veterinarian.

Parasite Control
Monthly heartworm and flea preventatives are essential to keep our resort facility parasite free. If your pet has not been treated in the last 30 days with an approved product, we can apply a product for you at admission.

Flea products sold in stores like Wal-Mart do not provide adequate protection and are not acceptable substitutes. Please read OTC Flea Products from our Pet Library for more information on this topic.

To ensure you have everything needed for the Pet Resort, you can download a handy Pre-Boarding Checklist.

Approved Heartworm Products: Sentinel, Interceptor, Heartguard, Revolution, Advantage Multi

Approved Flea Products: Sentinel, Frontline, Comfortis, Advantage, Promeris, Revolution

** If your pet has not been treated with an approved product, we can administer one for you at check-in.

sick dogPolicy Regarding Pets Who Get Sick While at the Pet Resort
In spite of these requirements and our efforts to keep pets healthy while in our care, pets do occasionally get sick while staying with us. Often these are illnesses that are unrelated to boarding and could have just as easily occurred at home. If this happens, we can assure you your pet could not be in a better place!

You will sign a treatment authorization statement upon admission so we will know how you want us to respond if your pet should get sick while at the Pet Resort. Our counselors are trained to observe closely for things like vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, sneezing, and other signs that would indicate a pet may not be feeling well. And, just down the hall from the Pet Resort is a state of the art veterinary hospital with caring and compassionate doctors and staff ready and willing to provide top notch veterinary care for your pet!

If your pet would happen to develop a contagious, infectious problem (like Kennel Cough) during his/her stay with us, we will treat your pet for no charge. We do our very best, including cleaning/sanitation and requiring every guest to be vaccinated, but still these diseases will occasionally spread. It is similar to the way children get colds at school and people get the flu despite being vaccinated. Luckily, these diseases are more a nuisance than a real health threat to pets.

Our offer to provide treatment for these types of problems - usually characterized by coughing, sneezing, or diarrhea - includes symptoms that develop while boarding or for up to 2 weeks after your pet's stay at the resort. If you notice anything during those 2 weeks, please call for an appointment. There will be no charge for the doctor's exam and medication. However, if you choose to take your pet to another veterinary hospital, we can not be responsible for any of their fees.

Fees
Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort's fees reflect top quality care by a dedicated, highly trained, and long-term staff with an unsurpassed level of concern for your pet.

Our goal is to never skimp on quality of care and service, while remaining competitive in the local marketplace.

In the table below, you will find a document with our current hours and fees. When you make your boarding reservation we will create an estimate for your pet's visit. If you have questions about our fees, please ask!
