Dr. Ryder move to the Kansas City area and joined the team at Blue Springs Animal Hospital in June of 2005 after he graduated from Vet School at North Carolina State University. He grew up in Arkansas, and his wife Amanda grew up in Oklahoma, so Blue Springs is much closer to family!
Dr. Ryder's interests include internal medicine and veterinary ultrasound. He has completed advanced training courses in veterinary ultrasound and enjoys using ultrasound to diagnose internal abdominal conditions. Dr. Ryder is also interested in veterinary dentistry and cancer chemotherapy.
Dr. Ryder is happy to accept second opinions or local referrals for veterinary ultrasound, ultrasound guided aspirates or biopsies of abdominal organs, and for cancer chemotherapy.
Dr. Ryder met his wife when they were attending Oklahoma State University for undergrad. She is a chemist and works with developing new pharmaceuticals. They have 4 four legged children (2 cats, 1 dog, and 1 horse), and 1 two legged child, Michael. Keeping track of everybody can be hard at times, so Dr. Ryder has recently acquired a taste for Starbucks!
When he is not at work, Dr. Ryder enjoys reading, camping, softball, and working/playing with computers.
